The Environmental Association for Great Lakes Education is a nonprofit organization empowering local communities to protect the Great Lakes Ecosystem. EAGLE has proven itself to be an invaluable clearinghouse of environmental information and a hub for preservation activity and networking.


ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability

is an international association of local governments as well as national and regional local government organizations that have made a commitment to sustainable development.

Northeast MN Sustainable Development Partnership

The Northeast Minnesota Sustainable Development Partnership combines citizen leadership with the research and education resources of the University of Minnesota to foster long term sustainability in the northeast region of Minnesota, with particular attention focusing on agriculture, natural resources, and tourism.

MPCA Sustainable Communities Team

The focus of this site is to assist individuals, organizations, and communities to move toward sustainability. In the broadest sense sustainability means meeting our needs today while ensuring that future generations will be able to meet their own needs.

NE CERTS The Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs) Project

The CERTS Project started in 2003, is made up of community members across Minnesota who share a bold vision for Minnesota’s energy future: to foster strong communities, to create local jobs, and to develop clean and reliable energy from clean sources.

Midwest Renewable Energy Association

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration. We are a non-profit 501(C) 3 tax-exempt organization.

C-BED is an organization of farmers and landowners, main street businesses and bankers, wind developers and component fabricators, educators, renewable energy advocates, and other members of our local communities. We share a desire to develop renewable energy resources in a way that optimizes local economic development in the communities in which we live and work.

The Minnesota Renewable Energy Society (MRES) is a member-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in Minneapolis in 1978 to promote the use of and advocacy for renewable energies in Minnesota through education and demonstration of practical applications. MRES is involved with education, awareness, and advocacy efforts for all forms of renewable energy technologies, with a particular emphasis on solar energy technologies.
